Why I Love Playing Barbarian
I’ve tried several classes in Age of Conan, but there’s one I always come back to, and that’s the Barbarian class. Rogue classes overall are my favorite, I play an Assassin character too, but it lacks the flexibility of the Barbarian. Ranger isn’t an option, I don’t think it is particularly fun to shoot at people at a distance, even though I do it every now and then to get the party started, if you know what I mean.
So why do I favor the Barbarian class then?
Well, it is a mix of these things:
- Pretty good in close combat.
- Can both dual-wield weapons, and swing a two hand one. No shield though…
- Sneaking around is fun.
I enjoy sneaking around a lot, actually, which is why I started playing with the Assassin in the first place. However, while it is cool to whirl around those dual daggers, it becomes a bit limited, I feel I have more freedom with the Barbarian. Then again, the Barbarian doesn’t really excel in anything. No heavy armor, for instance, and the Assassin is a better skulker.
Still, the Barbarian is my number 1 choice. That won’t stop me from playing other classes, though, and I’ve yet to try to play a priest/shaman of any kind. Maybe that’ll change my mind?

I am personally totally in love with the Guardian. A tank in the real sense of the word. And with a lot of taunt, I simply drive the mobs crazy.
Nothing beats the sense of being harrassed by six or seven mobs and still making out alive (thanks to the lovely PoM).

Yeah, that’s true, but the joy of sneaking up on someone, slashing their throat, in PvP is hard to beat.
Although the Assassin is better at that of course.
Which server do you play on, Naseer?
